Fire Breaks Out in Lindavista, Mexico City

A fire in the Lindavista neighborhood of Mexico City's Gustavo A. Madero borough forced the evacuation of approximately 100 people. Fortunately, no serious injuries have been reported. Emergency teams, including firefighters, have managed to extinguish the blaze affecting around 25 homes and an area of about 1000 square meters.


Fire Breaks Out in Lindavista, Mexico City

A fire that occurred this Friday in the Lindavista neighborhood of the Gustavo A. Madero mayoralty in Mexico City forced authorities to evacuate approximately 100 people. The Secretariat for Integral Risk Management and Civil Protection of Mexico City reported that the fire took place in poorly constructed houses in an irregular settlement, with no serious injuries reported as a result of the flames from the incident.

To combat the fire, support was requested from the Secretariat for Integral Water Management, which sent a barge to supply emergency units, in addition to providing two tankers of 10,000 liters each to mitigate the emergency. Six tankers of 10,000 liters each were also used to assist in extinguishing the fire that affected several homes in the area.

"The fire has been extinguished; we carried out removal and cooling tasks," Civil Protection reported around 7:00 PM, adding that the service had already been concluded by 7:30 PM. Elements of the Heroic Fire Department also went to the scene to assist in the extinguishing efforts.

The head of the Heroic Fire Department, Juan Manuel Pérez Cova, reported on social media that the fire affected around 25 homes and an area of approximately 1,000 square meters. Due to the fire, damage was recorded to overhead fiber optic wiring, electricity, and wooden poles in the Lindavista neighborhood.
